IADB held a Seminar on the changing role of the Armed Forces and their possibilities to mitigate and confront new threats

The Inter-American Defense Board (IADB), in coordination with the Organization of American States (OAS) Secretariat for Multidimensional Security (SMS), held the Seminar on the changing role of the Armed Forces and their possibilities to mitigate and confront new threats, on April 28, 2021.

The seminar aimed to share experiences, lessons learned and protocols implemented by each country to face the emerging threat phenomena that affect their territory, to achieve the interaction of all organizations involved in security and defense, with international organizations, academic institutions and think tanks.

The event was attended of exhibitors with extensive experience in the roles that the Armed Forces play in the face of new threats, international analysts specializing in the phenomenon of transnational criminal organizations and professional personnel from national security and public policies of the OAS member states, as well as more than 4,000 people from various countries in the Americas and from countries like Austria, Israel, Italy, Luxembourg, Portugal, Spain, and United Arab Emirates.
