IADB held a Seminar on Human Rights and International Humanitarian Law for the Armed Forces of the Western Hemisphere

The Inter-American Defense Board (IADB), in coordination with the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights (IACHR) and the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), held the Seminar on Human Rights and International Humanitarian Law for the Armed Forces of the Western Hemisphere, on March 24, 2021.

The seminar aimed to promote and strengthen respect for Human Rights and International Humanitarian Law in the Armed Forces, helping  the member countries’ operational units and think tanks access the lessons learned in subject.

The event was attended by the Commander of the US Southern Command (USSOUTHCOM), Admiral Craig S. Faller, representatives of the Organization of American States (OAS) and the Armed Forces of the IADB member countries, of the ICRC, of the IACHR and 12,200 other people from different countries in the Americas.
