Link with OAS

On March 15th, 2006, following the 64th IADB’s anniversary, the General Assembly established that IADB should be definitely an OAS entity, according to the resolution 1 (XXXII-E/06). That fact was based on Art. 53 of the Charter of that organization and was the first occasion at which the statutes that would govern the new entity were approved in a plenary section.

So, broadly, the mission of the IADB is to “Provide the OAS and its member states with technical, advisory and educational advisory services on matters related to military and defense matters in the Hemisphere, in order to contribute to the fulfillment of the OAS Charter”.
