Facilitator Role

The Inter-American Defense Board plays a facilitating role among the different Conferences and Agencies of the Hemisphere related to the field of Security and Defense. That action is accomplished by participating in the different activities these organizations develop and also in those IADB performs within the scope above.

In this context, IADB’s interaction with the Permanent Representatives of its Member States, both in the Permanent Council and in the Committee on Hemispheric Security (CSH), makes a significant contribution to strengthening the ties between IADB and its Member States.

It should also be noted that, in its role, IADB has strengthened its contributions at the Conference of Defense Ministers of the Americas (CMDA), acting as an articulator in different forums, organizations and areas such as Humanitarian Disaster Assistance, Confidence and Security (MFCS), Humanitarian Demining and Emerging Threats.
