Emerging Threats

In addition to the traditional threats, the security of states and the Hemisphere is being affected by the “New Threats” or by the so-called “Emerging Threats”. These new threats present in our societies are: Terrorism; Organized Crime; Illicit Drug Trafficking; Illicit Arms Trafficking; “Cyber Attacks”, Corruption, Natural Disasters, Environmental Depletion and Money Laundering.

In response to the aforesaid themes, IADB continuously organizes Conferences and Seminars covering topics such as: the role of the Armed Forces in unconventional tasks; International Cooperation Interagencies considering those new threats; the future concerns and threats, and how to mitigate them.
