On July 3rd, the Inter-American Defense Board (IADB) hosted two Marine Corps Cadets from the Brazilian Naval School. This event was part of an exchange offered by the Brazilian Marine Corps General Command of the Brazilian Navy, which established several visits to military and diplomatic organizations in the regions of Washington D.C. and New York.
Marine Cadets IKEUTI and ABNER were welcomed by the President of the Council of Delegates, Lieutenant General LUCIANO JOSÉ PENNA, and attended a presentation given by the Alternate Delegate of the Brazilian Representation, Marine Corps Rear Admiral CLAUDIO EDUARDO SILVA DIAS, which emphasized the importance of the Inter-American System to achieve common solutions to the various challenges faced by the countries on security and defense issues. In the end, the IADB received a plaque from the Brazilian Naval School, alluding to the visit.
The activity reaffirmed the IADB commitment with its member states to provide technical, advisory and educational services in issues related to Hemispheric Security and Defense, contributing to compliance with the Charter of the Organization of American States (OAS).
