U.S. Military Academy West Point participates in the Cultural Encounter of the Americas 2019

On April 6, during the Cultural Meeting of the Americas 2019, the Inter-American Defense Board received the distinguished study visit of a delegation from the Military Academy of the US Army. West Point, (U.S. Military Academy, for its acronym in English), members of the Spanish Language Club within the academic program of foreign languages ​​of the aforementioned military establishment.

During this visit, the IADB through the Cultural Meeting offered the cadets of West Point a wide cultural and folkloric platform of the member countries of this Organization of the OAS, which allowed them to know part of the regional culture and cuisine in the Americas. Undoubtedly, the objective outlined by the Department of Foreign Languages ​​of the USMA was reached during this event.

During this visit, the delegation of West Point granted a recognition to Brigadier General LUIS RODRÍGUEZ BUCIO, President of the Inter-American Defense Board, in gratitude for the facilities granted for the success of the study visit.
We hope to count on the valuable participation of this group in the Cultural Meeting of the Americas 2020.

With important approaches such as this one, the IADB reaffirms its commitment to its Member States, educational institutions and collaborating organizations to provide technical, advisory and educational advisory services on issues related to military and defense issues in the Hemisphere to contribute to compliance with the Letter from the OAS.
